The bottom line with making money is that it can't take away substantially from family time. If you were ready to do that, you'd go back to work.

Still, if you can hand your kids to a babysitter a few times a week, you can probably pull in some walking around money giving lessons or tutoring.

While you should have significant classroom teaching experience to work as a subject-area tutor, you can offer the following services without it...

* SAT Tutoring (of course, your own SAT score should be good)
* Homework assistance
* Organizational and study skills
* Other skills (if you have them!), such as sewing or cooking

You need to have excellent references and experience to charge over $40/hr. You might want to offer half-off services to your first few clients.
