My July theme will be the same as my June theme. I've barely scratched the surface when it comes to having fun in the sun.
Tomorrow is our 4th of July party. Cheap parties are a challenge I am always jazzed to jump on!
We're doing it at mom's swim club (thanks, mom), so there will be no cleaning, no decorating, no fuss. $5 per person (we're springing, of course) will get people through the door. Another $15 in snacks and desserts and $15 in beverages (no alcohol allowed in the club). That's all, folks. We should be able to entertain ten people or so for under $100.
Tonight is date night and my husband and I are going for our second picnic date this summer. A $10 bottle of Cava, some good food from the fridge, and we're on our way. Decent picnic baskets, btw, can be found easily on Craigslist. We found ours at a flea market for $5.
Tonight's menu...
Beer and Sophia Blanc de Blanc (they come in handy one-glass cans with a straw!!!) - $8
Tomato, basil, and mozz sandwiches - Basically free, b/c we have tomatoes and mozz in the fridge and basil on the patio
A small bag of chips - $1
Chocolate chip cookies - Part of the batch for tomorrow
Maybe some asparagus - Also in the fridge
I think this is a pretty perfect menu, but you can find other picnic menus and, frankly, any other picnic tip you might ever want at http://www.the-picnic-site.com/picnic-menu.html.
